Biography of Benjamin Blaine
Benjamin Blaine graduated CM from the University in 1883. He was born at King William's Town, South Africa, son of George Blaine, a sheep farmer.
Blaine was educated at Lovedale, before enrolling at the University in 1879 to study Medicine. Upon graduation, Blaine wen on to study at Dublin and Vienna.
He worked as House Surgeon in Royal Infirmary, Glasgow, before returning to South Africa, where he was District Surgeon at Engcobo, Transkei, modern day Ngcobo.
