Biography of Alexander John McAllister
Dr Alexander John McAllister, eldest son of John McAllister Junior originally from Glasgow, emigrated to Australia in 1851 to join other family, originally from Demerara, British Guiana, now Guyana, already settled there. Became the first doctor in Gippsland, Victoria. Dr McAllister died suddenly on the 3rd July 1869 in Ipswich, Queensland, from some form of seizure.
