Biography of John Heyliger Dewhurst
John Heyliger Dewhurst matriculated as an Arts student at the University in 1824, along with his brothers James and William, who matriculated in 1820 and 1824 respectively.
Dewhurst was born at Frederiksted, St Croix, the fifth son of Edward, a merchant.
Dewhurst graduated from Oxford with a BA in 1831 and MA in 1834. He became an Anglican minister. He was Incumbent of St Philip, Melbourne from 1869-1883.
