Biography of Peter Crawford Rankin
Peter Rankin graduated MB ChB from the University in 1920.
Rankin was born on 20 August 1892 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of Thomas Rankin, a chemist.
Rankin first matriculated at the University of Glasgow in 1914, aged 20, to study Medicine.
On 5 June 1917, Rankin submitted his draft registration form in his birth town of Cleveland, Ohio. This was the first of three registrations during WWI to collect information from men aged 21 to 31. Rankin chose to select the option of 'alien' to describe his relation to America and he instead described his citizenship as being subject to Scotland, and working as a Foreman at Cateract Motor Sales Company.
By 1947, Rankin had established medical practice Rankin and Struthers, at Bristol. He died there on 3 January 1964.
