Biography of Sören Anton Eide

Sören Anton Eide graduated BSc from the University in 1921.

Eide was born on 13 October 1894 in West Berkerly, California, son of his namesake, Sören Anton Eide, a Lloyd's surveyor. The family moved back to Fjosanger, Bergen, in Norway before two sons, Sören and Paulus, left to attend the University of Glasgow.

In session 1914-15, aged 19, Eide matriculated at the University of Glasgow to study Naval Architecture, residing at 6 Laird Drive, with his older brother Paulus. His studies were interrupted after session 1915-16 by WWI. He returned to the University in 1918 for a further two years of study, graduating BSc in Engineering with Naval Architecture in 1921.

Upon leaving the University, Eide moved to Villa Friedheim in Norway and worked as a Naval Architect based at Fjosanger Station in Bergen.
