Biography of George Radcliffe Stennett
George Radcliffe Stennett, the son of a merchant in Jamaica, studied at the University of Glasgow for one year in 1816-1817, before going on to Aberdeen and Edinburgh universities and qualifying as a doctor (MD, 1926). He returned to Jamaica where he was magistrate and surgeon of the St Ann's eastern regiment, and surgeon of the workhouse.
