Biography of John Thomas

The son of George Thomas, a surgeon in Jamaica, John Thomas studied at the University from 1813 until 1816. He followed the traditional course of Greek, Logic and Ethics, which would have qualified him for the degree of BA. However, like many men of that era, he appears not to have graduated.
