Biography of Alan Ferguson McKinnon

Alan Ferguson McKinnon was born at Tabora, Tanganyika, modern day Tanzania, son of Andrew Alexander and brother of medical graduate John Alexander.

McKinnon enrolled at the University in 1947 for one year, taking classes in Mathematics, French and Spanish. He returned in 1949 for exams. McKinnon was enlisted durinh the Second World War, and in 1948 he was made 2nd Lieutenant for service with the Army Cadet Force.
