Biography of Alastair Robin McCrae

Alastair Robin McCrae was born in Nairobi, son of Robert Alston, a company director. Educated in Nairobi at Kenton School and the Prince of Wales School, McCrae enrolled at the Law faculty of the University in 1948 for three years, taking classes in Economics, Social Law, and Accountancy as part his training to become a chartered accountant.

McCrae returned to Kenya as a chartered accountant in 1953 and established an accountancy practice, Murdoch, McCrae and Smith. In 1960, he returned to the UK were he settled in Hertfordshire.
