Biography of Charles Dengate Eastebrook
Charles Dengate Easterbrook was an Engineering student at the University of Glasgow from 1908 to 1911.
He was born in Senglea, Malta, around 1885, son of Charles Frederick, an engineer.
Easterbrook gave his home address as Gillingham, Kent, when he enrolled at the University in 1908. Over four years, Easterbrook took classes in Mathematics, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Natural Philosophy, Chemistry, and Ship Drawing.
During the First World War, Easterbrook used his engineering skills when he enlisted with the British Army. On 28 December 1914 he was appointed Inspector of Ordinance Machinery, 3rd class, with the honorary rank of Lieutenant.
Easterbrook was married in 1926 in England. He died in 1929 in Singapore.
