Biography of Sergiu Pascanu
Sergiu Paşcanu graduated BSc from the University in 1921. He was born in Bucharest, Romania, on 3 September 1894, son of Peter Paşcanu, a civil engineer.
Paşcanu had studied Engineering at the Romanian Guilds and City College, modern day University Politehnica of Bucharest, before enrolling at the University of Glasgow in 1919. Therefore, he undertook Honours level courses in Naval Architecture under Sir John Harvard Biles. He also attended classes in Drawing, Engineering, and Physical Laboratory, and was awarded the Senior Class Prize in Naval Architecture for session 1920-1921. Paşcanu graduated with a BSc in Naval Architecture on 26 April 1921.
After graduating, Paşcanu returned to Romania, where, in 1927 and 1928, he appears to have become an assistant professor for bridge construction at the University Politehnica of Bucharest.
