Biography of Harvard Turnbull
Harvard Turnbull was a Canadian-born student who studied at the University of Glasgow for one year in 1905.
Turnbull was born in Montreal, Canada around 1883, son of finance agent John Turnbull. Harvard graduated from McGill University with a BSc in 1904 and proceeded to pursue further study at Glasgow. He enrolled in 1905, aged 22, taking classes in Naval Architecture, and Senior Drawing.
Turnbull entered the shipbuilding business in Collingwood, Ontario. He was Ontario representative of the Dominion Steel and Coal Corporation, before setting up his own business, Harvard Turnbull Company, which dealt in railway, marine and contractor supplies.
Harvard Turnbull died aged 55 on 4 September 1955 in Toronto.
