Biography of William Robert Gemmell

William Robert Gemmell graduated MBChB from the University in 1934.

He was born in Hu-Peh (Hubei), a province of central China, son of William, a missionary.

Gemmell served with the Defence Medical Services as a medical officer in Bechuanaland Protectorate, modern day Botswana. He was made honorary major of the Royal Army Medical Corps, retiring in 1947.

Gemmell is recorded to have moved to Australia around 1965.
