Biography of John McGarvie Hutcheson
John McGarvie Hutcheson enrolled at the University in 1857 to study an Arts course, attending the Latin class of William Ramsay that year.
Hutcheson was born in Glasgow, son of George, a merchant. He also became a merchant in Beyrout (Beirut) and Glasgow. Hutcheson died at 18 Shaftesbury Terrace, Glasgow on 12 May 1878.
