Biography of Cecil Neil Black
Cecil Neil Black graduated BSc from the University in 1939. He was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1917, son of Gordon, an agent for a manufacturer.
Black enrolled at the University in 1935, aged 17, to study Applied Science, benefiting from a Carnegie Trust Grant and a T B Mackenzie scholarship. Black specialised in Metallurgy, graduating BSc in 1939, and worked as a metallurgist in Glasgow. He died in 2001 and was buried in Sweden.
