Biography of Amar Nath
Amar Nath graduated BSc from the University in 1913.
Nath was born in Gurdaspur, Punjab, India circa 1889, and lived in Lahore, in modern day Pakistan. His father was Lala Ganpat Rai, a Government Service worker. Amar Nath passed his preliminary exams in Punjab in 1909 prior to his enrollment at the University in 1911. During his time at the University, he studied Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry and Naval Architecture. Nath was recognised for his work and awarded with a first class certificate in the Electricity, Pure and Applied, class of Lecturer George E. Allen, DSc. Nath graduated BSc in Engineering on 21 April 1913, following which he returned to Pakistan and worked as a civil engineer in the Chunian District of Lahore. His brothers, Kedar and Prem Nath also studied at the University.
