Biography of Labhu Ram Mehra
Labhu Ram Mehra graduated with BSc in Engineering on 10 October 1912. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan in 1884. His father, Zota Ram Mehra, is listed as being a landlord.
Before coming to Glasgow, Mehra sat and passed his preliminary examinations at the University of Punjab. He enrolled at the University of Glasgow in 1910, aged 26, where he studied Mathematics, Engineering, Drawing Design, Mining and Physics. Whilst at the University, Mehra was awarded a prize in the subject of Engineering by Professor Archibald Barr.
Following graduation, Mehra worked as a civil engineer in Gumti Bazar, Lahore.
