Biography of Margaret Jane Sharpe Hynd
Margaret Jane Sharpe Hynd graduated MB ChB from the University in 1960. She was born in Bremersdorp, modern day Manzini, Swaziland. daughter of David, a medical missionary, who in the 1920s, set up a hospital and schools in Swaziland.
Educated at Epworth High School, Natal, South Africa, Hynd enrolled to study Medicine at the University of Glasgow in 1956, following in the footsteps of her brother, Samuel Wilson Hynd, who graduated MB ChB in 1949.
Hynd continued the work of her parents and became a a medical missionary in Africa.
