Biography of John Adam Beveridge

John Adam Beveridge graduated MA from the University in 1910. He was born on 20 October 1890 in Philadelphia, USA, son of Thomas, a warehouseman.

Beveridge first matriculated at the University in 1907, aged 16, to study towards an Arts degree. Beveridge studied a wide range of subjects as part of his degree, from languages (Latin and Greek) to Natural Philosophy and Mathematics, graduating MA on 17 November 1910.

Beveridge is recorded to have been working as a teacher in Glasgow prior to the outbreak of the First World War, then in Banffshire shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War.
