Biography of Thomas Heron Steel

Thomas Heron Steel graduated MD from the University in 1860.

Born in Glasgow, Steel immigrated to Australia after graduating and practiced from 1861 in the goldfield town of Creswick, Victoria. Briefly returning to Glasgow in 1870-71 to marry, Steel spent his career practicing in Victoria at Horsham, then Toorak, Melbourne, where he died in 1893.

His sons, William Hart and Donald, followed in his footsteps as medical graduates of the University of Glasgow.
