Biography of Allan Reid

Allan Reid graduated MA from the University in 1889.

He was born in Cape Town, South Africa, son of Henry W Reid, a grocer and merchant.

Reid enrolled at the University in 1879, and over the course of nine years, he took classes in Logic, Mathematics, Moral Philosophy, English Literature, Natural Philosophy, Divinity, Hebrew, Biblical Criticism, and Church History.

He was licensed by the Presbytery of Hamilton in 1889, was assistant at St Matthew's, in Glasgow. he was appointed minster of Slamannan, or St Laurence in 1892, and ordained in 1893.
