Custodian: University of Glasgow Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery

Reference: GLAHM E.109/2

These moccasins are unusual in style: they have a pointed toe gathered onto the front flap, a heel dart and attached side flaps with eyelets. The front flaps are decorated in red felt with blue silk edging, and are embroidered with flowers and leaves framed by geometric pattern in red, blue, cream, green and black thread .

An early label suggests the moccasins date from the early-19th century.
