Boomerangs were multi-purpose tools and weapons. Thrown with force it could cause an opponent serious injury or even kill them. Some boomerangs were designed to return and these were used for hunting. Boomerangs can also be used in pairs as clapsticks, either beaten together to produce a rhythm or shaken together for a rattling sound. They would accompany the didgeridoo and bull roarer to produce music for special ceremonies.
This boomerang originated in north-western Australia.
